Overview / WaterAid / Clean water projects / Carbon neutral

From 2011 all of our profits go to WaterAid projects. Our donations are allocated to where they can make the biggest difference. We believe this is a significant step in the development of Belu and we are very proud to be working
with the UK’s leading water
charity, WaterAid.

Prior to our WaterAid partnership, Belu undertook several projects, the largest of which was the building of The Korseena Dam in Jaipur, India. Local labour rebuilt the 400 year old dam, creating a reservoir to recharge the wells and pumps of 20 villages. With maintenance this dam should last for over 50 years, transforming the lives of 13,874 people.

Other clean water projects with Oxfam, Fresh 2O and WaterAid funded the installation of wells, hand pumps and rainwater harvesting technology in India, Mali, Bangladesh and Madagascar. These projects will provide safe drinking water to over 43,264 people for at least 15 years.

Closer to home, we are working hard to help clean up the River Thames. Our floating ‘Rubbish Muncher‘ removes nearly a tonne of waste every week from the river that would otherwise be washed out to sea as pollution that can kill marine mammals, fish and birds.
