What is World Water Day?
World Water Day is an annual event celebrated March 22nd, since the UN officially introduced it in 1993.
World Water Day is about taking action and raising awareness of the water crisis, but also celebrating the progress being made to reach people worldwide with safe water.
What is the Water Crisis?
9 in 10 people in the world now have access to safe water. However, there are still over 663 million people living without a safe water supply close to home and coping with the health impacts of using contaminated water.
How is Belu supporting World Water Day?
Belu donate 100% of profits to WaterAid to end global water poverty.
Each World Water Day, we take the opportunity to thank our customers for buying Belu water, and engage them in raising awareness of the water crisis through supporting our partner WaterAid’s #Blue4Water campaign.
Last year, people painted their faces blue, baked blue cakes and wore blue clothes and wigs to spread the word of #Blue4Water.
Why should you get involved?
By raising awareness of the water crisis, you will be supporting WaterAid achieve their vision of a world where everyone, everywhere has access to safe water and sanitation by 2030, in line with Global Goal 6. Together, we can make a difference.
